Foster Grandparents Program
Wanting Classroom Grandmas and Grandpas!
Are you, or someone you know, 55 years of age or older AND would like to volunteer to help a child?
Join AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program today!
This Program is a mentoring opportunity that pairs people ages fifty-five & older with children who have identified needs or falling behind in a skill. The grandparent volunteers provide one-on-one attention to children in the following areas of development: reading, math, social and motor skills, and independence. Some activities include: reading, color/number recognition, and puzzles.
Grandparents are placed at volunteer sites such as schools, preschool programs, Head Start centers, day care centers, youth programs and State facilities.
Every day in communities across America, Grandparent volunteers are people that children in need can depend on for love, wisdom, and support. When you share your time, experience, and love, you have the power to help a child who needs you.
